This beautiful closeup floral painting began with a photograph I took of a vase of Chrysanthemums. I wanted to creat a floral painting that was a little less detailed than I would normally paint. By applying a bit more of an impressionist technique to the piece, I came up with a painting of the original photograph that appeared textured and quite painterly. I will be trying my hand at more of this style of painting in the future. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this one. It looks incredible in a frame. Take it home and see for yourself. This painting is an original oil painting (not a print), painted on a 16 x 20 inch stretched canvas using professional Winsor Newton oils.
